I began my self-love journey around this time last year, with the help of this FREE Academy. I am NOT being paid to promote this in my post, but I truly believe that this is such a beneficial resource for women, and I want to have as many of you as possible sign up for this!
At the start of February, I challenged you to start your journey of self-love or continue the one you were already on. And some of you may have questioned, who am I to boast loving yourself whole heartedly. I am someone who didn't always love themselves or treat their body and mind with the respect, love, and nourishment that it deserved. I went from feeling comfortable in my own skin, to anxious over every single outfit I would try on. I started my Freshman Year of college at 145 pounds, full of self-love and satisfaction over who I was and what my body looked like. At 125 pounds, I had not only lost a significant amount of weight, but also the "I LOVE ME" attitude I had maintained for majority of my life. A smaller number on the scale, also created a smaller amount of self-love for myself and my body. My outlook had become negative, and I knew I needed help in overcoming this dark cloud that had been hanging over my head for far too long.
I stumbled a lot on my self love journey, and had quite a few set backs and slip ups, but I credit Chivon John and her Self Love Academy as to what really got my self love journey started with momentum. Her course helped me shift my mindset towards a more positive one, and gave me me actual exercises and mantras to use on a daily basis. While not ALL of the content applied to me, there were bits and pieces I pulled out from her experts that really resonated with me. I didn't watch her videos and was magically spewing self-love and appreciation, but instead, was provided with resources and ideas to work with and work on.
It wasn't easy, and sometimes I felt "silly" listening to audio clips on how to love myself, but it was worth it. It got my journey started, and it is one I am still working on, except my now foundation is solid.
Self Love is not easy, it is effort, but it is truly one of the most rewarding journeys you can ever take part in and the reward of being liberated from a negative mindset, is worth the amount of work.
I invite you to start your own journey, either by my tips here or Chivon's Course here.
