My favorites are: peanut butter, peanut butter cinnamon, cocoa, peanut butter & cocoa, "cinnamon bun" and when I'm feeling extra creative I make "pumpkin pie" and "apple pie" oats.
So, what's the deal with the "overnight" part? This creation is made in a mason jar or plastic container, which is what I use cause I'm too clumsy to be using a glass jar daily. Add all the ingredients together (don't worry I'm getting to that part later in the post) and you have the equivalent consistency of water but overnight they magically transform and when you wake up in the morning and take the lid off, POOF there is your porridge like breakfast!
- 1/3 cup Old Fashioned Oats (Bob Mill's GF)
- 1/4 cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt (can use plain)
- 1/3 cup lactaid (or soy, almond, coconut milk)
- 2 tsp. chia seeds
- fresh fruit to add on top the next morning! (some do it at night as well, but I don't like that as much)
Measure out all ingredients and put into container, NOW THE FUN PART - adding your flavor in. To get the flavors listed below, I will write what ADDITIONAL ingredients you need! Some were self explanatory, like Peanut Butter Cinnamon or Peanut Butter Cocoa, so I didn't include those! Got your own creative oats idea? Comment and share, I'm ALWAYS looking for new kinds to try out!
Peanut Butter 2 tbsp. PB2 powder or 1 tbsp. Natural Peanut Butter | Cocoa 1 tbsp. Hershey's Cocoa Powder (best with Vanilla greek yogurt to sweeten the bitterness) | "Cinnamon Bun" 1/2 tbsp.
