LIBERATE YOURSELF AND STOP STEPPING ON - IT WILL FEEL WONDERFUL I PROMISE
Every day I go to the gym there is a scale that sits by the door. I see countless girls step on, sigh, and step off with a defeated look on their face. Why, why do that to yourself? Why should a number determine how you feel? That number doesn't represent how many pounds you can lift, miles you can run, smiles you cause, or the love that you give to others. It's insignificant, plain and simple. When asked "How much do you weigh?" I cannot give an exact answer anymore because I've stopped stepping on the scale. I know my weight range, but to me, the number doesn't matter anymore. This wasn't an overnight state of mind, but something I have worked towards. Too many times I've been feeling awesome about myself only to step on the scale and see a number I didn't "like". That awesome feeling I had prior to stepping on, instantly sucked away as soon as those numbers appeared...so I've made a pledge, and I've stuck to it, for the last few months to DITCH THE SCALE! While it's tempting every once in a while when I see a scale at a friend's house or at the gym, to step on, just to see, I tell myself no. I tell myself no because that number doesn't matter at all. What matters most is how I feel about myself when I'm checking out an outfit in the mirror or dripping wet with sweat post work out. And you know what, I feel pretty awesome and I'm happy, and that's all that matters to me. Love yourself and your reflection, stop letting the scale determine your happiness and how you feel.
